Blackfire once again!
Blackfire once again!
I did my neighbor's red GMC pickup this week. Did a complete job, interior, exterior, engine. I was going to post the whole job here, took a bunch of before pictures, spent two days on the truck, I got so excited when I finished, I forgot the after pics! Sorry!
I know, I know, it didn't happen!
Paint wasn't too bad, minor swirls, a few light scratches. After a wash with Dawn, I clayed the entire truck. then went after the scratches with Megs Ulitmate Compound. Backed off just a little and went over the entire paint with Megs 83 (I was out of Megs 105), followed by Megs 205. Added two coats of Blackfire followed by a coat of Midnight Sun. Did wheels, engine, windows, interior, etc.
When my neighbor drove it away from the house, I really was surprised and pleased with the result. Not bad considering it wasn't a Ford!
I had dome my black 04 F-150 a week ago. Took my wife to the supermarket a couple of days ago, and noticed four people actually stop and stare at my truck! It looks that good!
Don't know how long this stuff will last, but I have never seen anything that looks as good just after application.

IMHO
M105 although it cuts very well is a bit difficult (for me) to work with.
Megs UC is a much friendlier product much less flashing, splatter issues. etc.
UC is based on the M105 technology but M105 has more aggressive abrasives.
Mixing the two (I use a 50/50 bead of each on the pad) makes M105 behave better.
Recently, I've been using Menzerna (diminishing abrasive) products and I like the results.
The Blackfire Wet Diamond (BFWD)/Midnight Sun (BFMS) combo is my personal favorite.
Depending on environmental conditions BFWD will last you up to a couple of months.
You should wait 12 hours between each coat of BFWD but I've done it 2-3 hours later.
BFWD has a very nice warm shine, deep look and wet slickness. I like the BFWD slick feel!!!
I believe BFWD is probably the warmest and slickest synthetic polymer LSP on the market.
When BFWD is followed by BFMS is reduces the BFWD slickness and shine.
...but BFMS adds depth and warmth and the combo creates a unique look!
BFWD/BFMS is not the longest lasting LSP on the market but it does look AWESOME!
Again Good Job!!!...let's see some pics next time.
