Question How do I buff out scratches?

I got a couple of tree branch scratches in my paint I want to buff out if I can. I have a Sears Craftsman 9" orbital buffer. What is a good product/procedure to use? I've always waxed by hand before and have never used the buffer.....

You could try Meguiar's #9 Swirl Remover (fine), #3 High Tech Cleaner (medium) or 3M Polish (fine). I believe all 3 are clear-coat safe.

I would use the Meguire's cleaner wax first, then put on a coat of the pure carnuba. I have used that to remove tree scratches on my F150, one drawback of hunting season.

I had good luck on the weekend using Silver Turtle Wax, on my silver truck. They do have some other colours, mostly mainstream ones. The scratches that i had from 4wheeling are noticeable reduced, and you can't feel them either. I did this by hand, without and orbital buffer.

If you use an orbital make sure to use a foam pad. never use a terry bonnet on clear coat. You may diminish the scratch but add lots of swirls. Stick with foam. Definitely check out the site above, lots of good info.
