Not a Ford, Sale Prep
Posted over at the Cafe, thought I would share here incase any of you venture into this kind of fix and or prep.
A little about this project. This is one of my trucks used for a small business that we need to sell. It has graphics on it and on the tool box.
First we had to use shop lights to warm the surface to remove the graphics, heat guns are not as effective as the adhesive needs to be a a constant temp to release. So we had to do everything in phases. Remove one section, move down the truck, use Laqeur Thiner on the truck paint to remove remaining adhesive, QD or ONR section, polish/correct, and repeat,repeat, repeat.
On the truck paint, Optimum Poli-Seal was used as the AIO after claying.
Using a Flex, with white Lake CCS pad.
On the truck tool box, the paint is much different. We used Gas to remove the graphic residue, then QD/ONR.
Then used PB SSR1 (new version) and PP (new version) for the tool box using a Yellow Megs Solo Pad.
NLD on the interior as usual
HD on wells, tires, and engine bay. (Photo later)
PB was the only thing that worked on the tool box. Tried Menzerna SIP and it was too much.
Here is a before, and I have to say, this was the dirtiest truck I have ever seen. I didn't get a photo of the rear wells but lets say this, APC+ full strength didn't put a dent it it. We had to do it by had (3 hours) using Lacquer Thinner.
Note the graphics, it was on the rear of the tool box too.

Front graphics off, then lacquer thiner, clay, then QD then Poli-seal

Not bad for a correction shot, and a shameless reflecto all in one.

Pulled out, gas ready to go at it...we were getting light headed in the garage with the fumes.

Interior done with vac, water and MF, then NLD.
This is a before shot of the bed....i have since swept out and treated with 303
