I'm not sure how it is with Ford but when I repainted my BMW, I got a new sticker from the dealer. All I needed was the VIN and proof of ownership. Cost was about $30.00

Ford will do the same thing... you'll have to make a few calls, though. My grandmother's Windstar was totally rebuilt, but the body shop just cut out the piece of the jamb with the sticker on it and left it in the glovebox! Morons... But my dad made a few calls to the dealer, and I think corporate too, and got a new one for her.
