X-pel paint protection
Has anyone tried the X-pel paint protection kit on the front of their truck? I've used the light protection kits on other vehicles of mine, but never the paint protection. If I get this truck, it will have everything painted on the front since it will be a Sport and I'm worried about chips.
Thanks,
Steve

I was waiting to see replies myself. I have been to the web site and thought about it. I'm curious how it looks after several years. Does it get cloudy and how about any scratches and pits?
The other draw back is that If I got complete kits to cover an F150 and my wife's brand new Altima, it gets veeery expensive for some plastic stick on.

JDF, I agree. I wonder how it looks after a few years of rocks, bugs and sun. Another concern is how the paint under the Xpel holds up? I wonder if the Xpel acts like a coat of wax and prevents fading. As you already know, the drawback to the Sport package is no chrome on the front bumper and tons of painted area to chip up. I also agree that Xpel is awful pricey for what you get.

I was just getting my 96 F150 ready to sell this weekend. Thats when I noticed how many chips/bugs I have on my front end.
Looking over at my nice brand new HD F150 really made me worry. I called a couple of the dealers near me about this stuff after reading this thread. They both told me that it would be replaced if it yellows or peels etc.
The second guy I talked with was giving me a much better install price if bought the kit from expel myself.
It will still be around 500 smackers when its all said and done.
Hmmm just put 500 bucks in the bank for 4 years then have the whole truck repainted.?.?.
