Red face Soap Bubbles on Paint...

Okay, a very odd question, but does anyone know if bubbles that my daughter blows would harm the paint? She was out yesterday blowing bubbles with her friend, and this morning you could see in the dew where the bubbles had landed. Any thoughts???

Thanks wemjr!! I'd hate to see my daughter's face if I had to tell her that she couldn't blow any more bubbles around daddy's truck :-)

Actually the dew didn't stick where the bubble were, because (I think) it was a slicker surface. Just hated to see big round spots on the paint.

Depends on what the soap bubble is made out of. If she's got really bad breath... <j/k>

Actually, you'd want to rinse it off fairly soon. Eventually, it will eat thru the wax. It won't harm the paint, but it will cut through the wax. Soap bubble stuff is usually fairly weak, so it will probably take some time to eat through.

If you wax regularly, I wouldn't worry about it. Let your girl enjoy her youth.

Cool

It doesn't do any harm. They're just soap bubbles and the dew collected on the surface where the bubbles were because it was easier to stick to. Just rinse the truck and you should be fine!

Ahhhhhhh! Welcome to my world. My daughter went out into the garage and started blowing bubbles all over my harley yesterday. Chastized her about not playing in the garage, so she went out in the driveway and blew them all around my truck. To hard to be upset with a three year old girl!

Sounds like she's got her daddy wrapped around her itty bitty pinky finger! It would be a good idea to rinse it off, no doubt.... the reason it doesn't stick is because a lot of bubbles like that contain a glycerine-like material.... EXTREMELY slippery, but it provides the surface tension for the bubbles.... the water just ran off, that's all. That kids bubble stuff is usually non-toxic to the kids that are playing with it, so I doubt it would do any harm at all to the paint on your truck... it can take a lot more abuse than a 3 year old....

My neighbor and I used to make giant soap bubbles and commercial stuff got a bit expensive so we started making our own.

There are basically 3 ingredients in all bubble solutions.

Water
Detergent/Soap (dishwashing liquid was best)
Glycerin

The glycerin helps keep the bubbles from drying out which translates into longer bubble life.
