I use the sno broom sometimes, but I never take it all the way down to the paint. leave a thin layer , once the truck gets warm it will slide off or melt off on its own. Watch out for slabs of ice on your roof though, when you hit your brakes at the first intersection it can come sliding forward and ruin your hood. I bent the windshield frame on my jeep when a slab slid forward and down the windshield onto the wiper posts.

Lived in FL last winter. So nice not dealing with snow, salt and cold. Now I'm in NY and now looking forward to winter... Again.
