It's a synthetic chamois, I think is the best way to describe it. You can get it at Walmart or Target for about $7, I've seen them as high as $13. I think Pep Boys and Autozone carry them too.
It's in a plastic tube and stays moist all of the time. You can wash it in the machine, it hold up really well. Like a chamois I have seen it leave moisture behind but it never spots or streaks on me. You do have to wring it out frequently, like a chamois. The last one I had lasted 5 years and the only reason I replaced it was new truck gets new supplies.
It's also sold under the name "Fireman's Friend", however we just use towels at our station.

Also Ford sells the California Duster, for I think $22, in their accessories store, only difference is it has something about Ford Trucks printed on it and the Ford logo on it.

Thumbs up

I agree with all4chem, the absorber is a great product. Alot better than a chamios. I'll have to try one of these dusters. We are getting to the 'dry' season here in NC. . .

Here is a good idea for everyone. I learned this trick detailing my Harley(hence my user name.) When you get done washing your truck, bust out the leaf blower and blow it dry. I have an electric one, but gas works just the same. It gets all the water out of the cracks, the trim, the bed, everything that always drips down when you just get done. After the leaf blower, one towel and 2 minutes for a quick wipe and your truck looks awesome.

One question though. Here in S. Florida the water is full of calcium and who knows what else. It leaves vicious white spots on your paint if you don't have time to try. Anyone ever use some type of filter on your hose to stop this? I'm in an apt complex so I can't filter the whole friggin building, just my hose that I sneak(hum pink panther theme now) in the service shed on Sundays when the maintenance staff is off.
