Post Tonue cover help please

I have a factory installed tonue cover and it says not to use anything on it with silicone in it. I am looking for a protectant like Armor All. Any help or suggestions with this would be greatly appreciatted.

Don't use Armor All or any product like it!

Use any kind of car wash soap and water and it will stay looking like new. Any cleaner like dish soap or Simple Green or Citrus cleaners are all made to cut grease which will also strip the wax off your truck (which will also make your tonneau look like crap). Car wash soap is formulated to remove dirt but not the wax and it will keep the cover looking great. You dont need a protectant at all.

I agree. My instructions for cleaning my cover said use nothing but car wash soap or water. Have always done this and it still looks new.

My factory tonneau is a year and a half old and it is not garaged. I wash it with car wash soap and it still looks new.

Detergents, like Simple Green, Dawn, Joy, etc. will not only remove the wax from your paint, it will also wreck your cover.

Cool

I just found a product that may fit the bill. It is put out by extang ( Maker of my cover) and it is called Tonneau Tonic. Used it for the first time and it worked very well. Looks and cleans like ArmourAll, but will not harm your cover. Found it in my Truck supply store.

Good luck
