Backing plates & adapters.

I've never looked much into smaller pads since I usually treated door sills and small corners by hand vs DA polisher, but with semi-low satisfactory results I am going to throw come LC 3.5" pads into my order here for tonight, just need to ask, will they work with the PC7424XP backing plate? Or will I need to add in the dedicated 3.5" BP and adapter for them to work well? Specs are the spindle thread accepts 5/16 - 24, and I have a 5.5 BP which obviously sounds like it will not hold the pad.

Pardon if its a stupid question but I really want to know and its better to ask than to pay for something you find out you cant use :o.

yea, use the smaller bp with the lc spot buff pads. same durability, smaller size. if you use the same bp, the plate with stick out past the pad, which will be a disaster.

Thank you guys. That was my concern, the plate sticking out, or not even holding the pad properly.

You're gonna love the 4" spot buffs. Great for smaller areas especially on cars. I'm probably using these just as much as my 5.5's since I tried them.
