It's possible to get scratches without having children, you just have to live in a s**thole city like I do. I wouldn't mind so much if I can use a scratch remover and make it so it's hardly visible, I'm going to give it a try.

I would start with some DuPont #7 compound paste. I use it all the time to remove small "imperfections" .. buff it out real good then re-wax

From what I have learned about city living (Boston) buy a **** car and don't fix or change the oil just ditch and buy another, save your money till you can move! Sorry my attitude comes from all the scratches and dents, not to mention hundreds of hours of detailing that has gone into my wifes Audi just to have it look like sh*t because of A-holes who don't care! Sorry had to get that off my chest.

scratches ?

This worked for me:

1. wash
2. clay bar
3. DA Polisher with Meg's Ultimate Compound (2X), Meg's Scratch X 2.0 (2X) and Meg's NXT 2.0 Wax

It will need professional help if this doesn't work...

I feel your pain

Having two kids under 6 years old, I lay down the law when it comes to Dads truck. They can no longer eat in my truck and the only liquid they are allowed to have in it is water. I worked in auto body for a while and saw kids artwork more than once. One guys kid used the barbecue brush on the side of his truck to help his dad wash it. I let my kids wash their powerwheels jeeps while I wash my truck. Dont let them help you, it will only encourage them to touch your truck. Kids will drop the wash mitt , contaminate it with whatever it picks up and continue washing . I encourage their artwork elsewhere , so Im constantly out of computer paper. But its cheaper than paintwork.
