Bedrail cap scratches
I just had a Line-X liner installed, and after that, the abrasions in the plastic bedrail caps REALLY became noticable. They are not deep, in fact they barely break the surface, but they get a "chalky" white-ish look to them.
Anyway, my question is this, has anyone found a way to hide this? I've tried ArmorAll, and various similiar products, but can't completely get rid of the funky look. You'd think that since they are not painted, when they get the inevitable scratches they would be invisible, but I can't get rid of them!

The only way is to replace them or have a local body shop take a look at them. They may have a compound that will out the scratches ..

I have had similar problems with scratches in plastic, on shallow scratches use very fine sandpaper to dress them up. On deeper scratches I use a knife to level the scratch then use the very fine sandpaper, if you want a really smooth surface use rubbing compound. After the repaired surface matches the surrounding area use a cloth saturated with motor oil and polish the oil into the repaired area. This may take several applications but after a short time the oil stains the plastic back to its original darker color. Also if you don't want to sand or rub the plastic use a round object such as a deep well socket and roll the socket over the scratch with very firm pressure until the scratch is literally ironed out. Most all scratches can be improved by this method and some can be repaired to like new. Some scratches just dissapear with the oil being polished into the plastic. Be careful if the surrounding area is not smooth (may have engraved look) that you don't make matters worse by sanding the original texture away.
