Yep. It's their ingredients. Before I knew better I used it liberally all over the tires and didnt really use care around the wheels.
I knew it was stronger than bleach but never knew how much stronger until I looked it up here.

 

Good and useful site! I've used it a few times before! I just never understand why people compare that to an APC though...

 

I dont know if the states have spray nine but up here in Canada I use spray nine and it makes the tires look brand new and makes the white lettering look extremely white as well.

 

One thing I have thought about getting is Amazing Roll-Off, come to think of it. Anyone used it?

 

Since they don't use any salt on the roads here in Oregon I use plain water with a soft towel followed by Mother's protectant... It works for me...

well folks it been awhile and i'm sad to say that i have not found a solution to my problem. i have tried soap and water, westleys, mothers, meguirs, eagle one, black magic, turtle wax ect ect.... and my tires are still look a brownish color. everything i have tried i purchased from a local store. (walmart, autozone and such) what can i try next???

 

They will continue to turn brown, or bloom. Some tires take longer than others to stop doing it. It's chemicals in the rubber coming out to the surface as you drive. You can't just wash it all away.

 

I liked the puddle idea, or when I get sick of the red clay ring around the side of the tires I just scrub at them with extra soap that I have from washing the truck.

 

Are you saying that even after dressing them they still look brown or just after washing them?

Next step would be Mail Order

 

i was trying to avoid tire dressing. i dont like the greasy shine. i just want a natural black look like when the tire is brand new. i will be trying a mail order product(s). in the meantime in a last ditch effort i used some purple power citrus cleaner on them and scrubbed the you know what out of them. they are about 50% cleaner. then i broke down and used some megs tire dressing on them and they look nice. we'll see how it goes. thanks all.

 

That tire gel pretty much treats and conditions the rubber with hardly any gloss when it's dry. Just makes tires look like conditioned natural rubber...not wet or greasy and the look last for weeks.

 

I uses to use tire shine all the time, after two days they looked like crap again from road dust sticking to them! So now I use simple green/water scrub brush and leave!
