^ I use westleys bleach white. Does a good job, for the white letters on the tires I use brillo pads. Works for me.

 

Westley's Bleche-Wite

 

^^i saw the westley's bleche-wite. i wondered how well it works. any rim damage experienced?

 

Be very careful with Westley's. Rinse it off anything it touches besides tires immediately.

 

I have used Westley's since I started driving over 15 years ago. It does a fantastic job on tires. I've never let it sit on the tires too long, so not sure what it would do if it dried. My dad always taught me to keep the soap off of a car as I washed it. I usually do either one panel, or one tire, or whatever I am working on and then rinse it off immediately. I also do my best to keep the surface completely wet before I start scrubbing on it.

Another vote for Westley's here!

 

Depends on the rim mostly as to what damage it could cause. Rough stuff.

 

Westley's is highly alkaline - it's like using Drano. That's why you gotta try to keep it off the wheels and DEFINITELY keep it off the paint. It does a heck of a job on the tires though. I would not spray it on the tires without making sure the wheel and whole area is wet, the more dilute it is, the less damage it's going to do.

 

If you have polished aluminum wheels I would not use Westley's Bleche White. Uncoated aluminum does not like many chemicals. It's very easy to stain.

 

I've *heard* Westley's can cause wheel staining, but never experienced it myself in many years using it on all kinds of wheels - chrome, polished, painted, alloy, steel, aluminum, etc. Normally I spray each wheel and tire down with the hose to blast away all the loose stuff then use Westley's and a scrub brush then rinse the wheel and tire very well.

My thoughts exactly, but it's been dead in here for awhile.

 

I use the same Griot's rubber cleaner or Meguiar's APC. I just recently bought some of Griot's Tire Rejuvenator, it works pretty well. It turns the tires a fresh black look, but you can't use on white letters or white walls, it is a black paste. Only used once so far and liked the results, but we will see how long it lasts

 

With the exception of whitewalls and white lettering I don't use Westleys once I learnt better.
