G110 V2 or Flex

I've been using my G110 V1 for a year now but I would like more power but I still consider myself a beginner so I'm trying to decide b/t the G110 V2 or the Flex. Does the Flex have the burning in safety feature like the G110. Pros help me out here

If you want more "power", I'd switch to a rotary. But you do need some practice.

flex is definately a better machine and from what i understand its still pretty beginner friendly, but you shouldnt need more power the g110 v1 should remove all the imperfections you need, you might just need to work on your technique a little, it takes patience

I never liked how easy the G110v1 bogged down and stopped spinning so easily under load but smaller pads fixed most of that problem. The Flex is a much more powerful tool but that power comes at a price. No the Flex has "no burning in" safety feature and currently there is only one size hard edge backing plate 5.5" so your pad sizes are limited to mostly to 6.5" or larger because of that hard edge. There are several places on my NBS F150 pads that size will not safely work and it gets worse when I do cars.

Unless you're holding the Flex in one spot and put pressure on it, you shouldn't be burning any clear with it.

As a side note, I use 5.5 pads with it when I don't have any clean 6.5s. Just make sure you don't lean it

Not ready for a rotary as of yet, its either the Flex or G110 V2

In this case I would not sell my G110 V1, I will keep it to get into tight spots using 4" pads. I'm just trying to find out if you had a choice (price doesnt matter) which one of these two devices would you get?

True if you keep it moving you cant burn the clear but for the inexperienced even going over the same spot too many times with aggressive pads or compound can cause problems it would take hours to do with a G110.

I also use 5.5"...and even 4" pads with the Flex sometimes but that is living dangerously.

I bought the G110 V2 primarily as a back up for the V1 but I would definitely get the Flex over the G110 V2 if price was not a consideration.
Because of the added torque and speed the Flex will cut your work time by 75% compared to the G110 or the PC7424 but the weight, speed and torque will also physically wear you out faster....but im kinda old too.

You get used to the torque after the first few times using it. After a while, it makes my G100 feel like a toy. But, it will cut work time by at least 50%
