Undercarriage Protection/Lube

I like to keep my undercarriage soaked in WD-40 for some rust protection and keep it looking newer. What do yall use? Is there anything better or more efficient that would last longer?

I'm at the spray wash once a week and spray WD40 on my electrical spots. Where do you spray the WD40...any specific spots?

Pretty much everywhere. Front end, rear end, frame, axles, body mounts. Door drains and bottoms. Engine bay.

Oh yeah dude its awesome...my skid plate, oil pan, transfer case, tranny, etc look brand new.

But yeah thats the thing, it washes off quick and its like $5 for a big can.

I try to go easy and just do it everytime I wash the truck.

You can get WD-40 in half-gallon cans at most home stores. I recently spotted it at HD for $14.99. Just load up a spray bottle and you're set to go.

I just started to use WD-40 on the the under carriage. Living in the coastal Northeast region, where it's always damp, I noticed bolts and fasteners rusting, then bigger suspension and drivetrain components. Once I started spraying WD, the corrosion problem was arrested.

The only issue I still have is my rear axle... it's covered with surface rust. You'd think Ford would do a better job of painting the rear drivetrain components. Next time I'm underneath the truck, I'll spray this area.

Yeah i used a crap load of WD40 underneath my truck. My girl is like thats gonna hurt your truck. I just laugh and say this is why you dont have a truck. But engine bay is ok to spray WD40 everywhere inside it? You dont rinse it down after spraying inside the engine bay do you?

Using Hyperdressing is a much better choice IMO.

Engine bay is ok. I wouldnt go crazy with it or anything. Ill give it a quick burst and then just wipe everything down with a rag.

It is WD=water displacement, I dont think it could really hurt anything.

I should try using WD next time. I to am always high preassure washing the frame every week. I can't wait til spring, because then I can wash down the frame and wax it. lol I am being very serious when I say that. Oh the extremes we all go to, to keep things looking good!

yeah anywhere except the brakes.

yall act like this is some genius idea

if you really wanna do it right like the old timers did, mix up some kerosene and motor oil and put it in a garden sprayer then go out in the yard or field and start sparyin it down.

just dont let an environmentalist nut see you
