I love the looks of a clean, shiny black truck, but when they are dirty or dull they look like doo-doo. I don't want to deal with keeping them clean and shiny, and I also don't want to deal with the heat in the summer. Yeah, I know you can tint the windows, but I don't like looking through dark tint when I'm driving.

Given a choice I will always choose black over any other color vehicle. My first F-150 was gold and though I kept it clean nothing motivates me to shine more than black.

I have only had one black truck and I love the way they look when they are clean but I will never own one again. My wife's black Ford 500 is enough to try and keep up with.

Properly treated wells will still look better than non treated.

Dry hyperdressing we keep dust from clinging...just an fyi.

I'd probably have to paint them w/ something, especially on the drivers side as I think someone in the past must have driven over some white/gray paint, which splattered in the wheelwell.

It's a labor of love lol
Yes, it's a pain... but when it's done, showstopper.

Thought I would chime in and see what some folks think about what I currently using on my 09 Black fx4. I do the typical PC 7424 using Ultimate compound and Ultimate polish (I like the stuff) I seal with Megs Next GenII. Always had the dust issue. Couple weeks ago took the truck into a line-x dealer to have it sprayed and noticed they were a zaino dealer. I tried the Zaino 6 gloss enhancer. It was suppose to help repel dust. WOW it brings a crazy shine out in the truck and does seem to really help with dust. Anybody tried it ? Thoughts.

It's my understanding that Zaino works best if you use their entire system. If you use NXT 2.0 on a black vehicle, most people recommend the use of a pure carnauba such as Megs #26 as a "topper". Let the NXT cure for at least 12 hours before topping.

You shouldnt need UC on an 09 truck unless you have swirls. But your right I do like UC. I use #205-#21 2.0-#26 with exellent results on my black truck.

My truck looked like the previous owner buffed the black paint with 80 grit sandpaper.

I had never done any detailing before. I thought I would have to to repaint.
It took me a little while to figure out what to do and how to correct it.
Now I have learned how to do it. The process is simple, quick and easy.
ALL the scratches and swirl marks are now GONE! It looks like a black rolling mirror.

Hood pic does not do it justice!

While it does look good (Welcome to the site BTW) reflecto shots don't show much other than refelcto. Most of the reflectos are shot for fun rather than to show the skill of the person doing the detail.

To better show the skill, lets see the same shots in direct sun, under lights or under a brinkman.
