Now that you've _made_ me buy the PC, I need recommendations on what pad kit to buy to go along with it. I'm looking for one less then $60. I don't need anything elaborate. I'll use the PC for light swirl correction and to apply LSP.

4" LC pads. You'll need the 2 7/8" backing plate and the DA adapter. Obsessive Detail has a 4" DA kit for $30 that includes the bp, adapter, 1 white (polishing), 1 orange (cutting) and 1 black/grey (finishing). That's not enough but it's a good start. For another $25 you can get another 2 white, 1 orange and 1 black/grey. That should cover your needs.

I really wanted to order from the same place ($80 vs $165 for the PC... I'll stick to buying from AG.

I was looking at 5 1/2 pads as a compromise to 4" or 6 1/2". Of course if you think 4" is still better, I'll certainly consider them. I'm mainly going to be using the DA on the entire vehicle, not just small areas that need work. I'm thinking the 4" is to work smaller, more damaged areas?

Right now I'm looking at 3 kits:

1 Foamed Wool 6.5 inch Polishing/Buffing Pad
2 CCS 5.5 Inch Orange Light Cutting Pads
2 CCS 5.5 Inch White Polishing Pads
1 CCS 5.5 Inch Red UltraSoft Wax/Sealant Pads
3 Packs of Cobra Quik Clenz Pad Cleaner
2 Cobra Arctic White Edgeless Microfiber Cloths, 16 x 16 inches
$60

or

2-CCS White 6.5 Inch Polishing Foam Pads
1-CCS Gray 6.5 Inch Finishing Foam Pad
1-CCS Blue 6.5 Inch Finessing Foam Pad
2 Cobra Arctic White Edgeless Microfiber Polishing Cloths
12 oz. Pinnacle XMT Polishing Pad Cleaner
12 oz. Pinnacle XMT Polishing Pad Conditioner
$60

or

1 CCS 6.5 inch Orange Pad
1 CCS 6.5 inch Yellow Pad
1 CCS 6.5 inch White Pad
1 CCS 6.5 inch Gray Pad
1 Dual Action Backing Plate 5"
1 Lambswool Pad
Pair Microfiber Bonnets
Pair Terry Bonnets
1 Cobra Microfiber Detailing Towel, 16 x 16 inch
$70

Are the bonnets useful? I think most people remove by hand? I'm leaning toward choice 2 as I don't think I need an orange pad (I have just minor swirls on my truck and car) and I don't think I need the bonnets/lambswool pad.

3 polish, 3 finish pads.

If you really want lake pads: White, orange and gray are all i have used. I have green and blue too, but i don't think you'll need them

Everyone here knows i don't care for ccs pads, so i'll recommend flat pads from phil at detailsdomain or george at detailedimage
