A great use for "Ice".....

I bought some of this stuff way back, for my car. Turned out to be a pain in the but to get enough of it wiped back off that it didn't look blotchy + it had no durability, and in a nutshell, just wasn't worth the hassle IMPO. So it just sat in the garage.

Now, remember I had asked a while back about "waxing powder coat" ??? {and BTW, both my bumpers, and my wheels are powder coated}

Well, I got this little idea... Grabbed the "Ice" and a micro-fiber towel, and hit just one wheel, and one small side part of the rear bumper (just for a test) and it looked great ! But I waited a week to see how it would hold up.... and also how it would wash off. No problems at all. So last week, I did all of my wheels, and it made them look "better than new" ! It seems like it helps to wipe off some of the brake dust, but even if not, they look "blacker than black" with no dusty look.
Today I did all the wheels, and the bumpers, both the powder coat, and the plastic, plus my side mirrors, handles, etc !

And damn ! This stuff is the shiz ! :-) Kind of funny that it sucks on paint (which I think is what its mostly marketed for) but it is awesome on powder coat, and plastic trim !

Just thought I'd pass this on....

Peace,
Fish

Did you use the 'ice' paste wax or the 'ice' spray wax. It makes my black truck look awesome but a pita when applying it and also time consuming.

I use Ice on my plastic trim and it ran like crazy after a rainy day.

Hey 06', neither... I used the clear liquid, in the squeeze bottle. Super easy to apply, and I didn't have to worry about getting so much back off of the powder coat, as you would if you actually used it on your paint (which again, I don't recommend).

Hey 05', that's good to know, as I will only use it on the wheels and bumpers (places where it won't run down onto anything) and not on the door handles or trim > in the Winter. Oh, here in Nor Cal, it only rains between October, and pretty much April ;-)

Peace,
Fish

Fine.

You know what ? I had asked some time back, for suggestions on this forum, about what I could use on Satin Black powder coat, and didn't get $#!+ for suggestions.

So now I find something on my own, that works good, try to pass it on, and all I get is $#!+.

If you have not used the liquid Ice on Satin Black powder coat, you have know idea WTF you are talking about.

Have a great day,
Fish

Thank you jetech.

Sounds like someone has forgotten what they have said in the past - it's not necessarily the product, it's how it's used.

i got some of that stuff a while back too. found quickly that it wasnt good for anything, but i accidently spilt some on my black wheels and it turns out that it makes them look really good. i usually put a coat of it on after i wash, it keeps the wheels looking new again. without it the black on mine looks pretty dull. my wheels are powder coated too. other than that though, ICE is crap

yep. Sometimes mistakes are good. I remember the first time I accidentally got degreaser on my chrome. when I rinsed it off it was shinier than when I'd spend 30 mins buffing it with chrome polish
