Garage Make over

Thought I would share my garage make over...its been a fun project and one I have wanted to do for 7 years.

I removed everything from the garage on the floors. patched holes, prepped walls then painted, new garage door opener, installed Niles in ceiling speakers, and had a company come in an put in an epoxy floor. They come back on Sat to finish up and put a clear coat on top but here are a few photos.

The clean up and prep

How did you land that PB banner? Nice job on the floor too, what did you use?

For the banner, lets just say "I'm kind of a big deal" LOL just kidding, Steve at PB will hook you up with a banner and you have it personalized if you wish.

Thanks on the floor, I used a company here in Fort Worth called Extreme Epoxy. Its a 100% solids product. They are coming back today to put the clear coat on.

Thanks mna, I am pretty happy with thus far, I haven't really looked at it in the daylight yet. They were here until 12:30 am last night working on it.

We are putting in all new cabinets, new fridge (that comes later, have to use the old one for now) and I am making changes on the layout. It will be another week before I get that done. I will be able to drive on it next weekend so that works out great for us b.c we are out of town next weekend!

Looking great RR. By the way, that step, I never even noticed it before. It just kind of blended in with dirt before. Now that I know it's there I see it in the before pictures but I never noticed it before.

Very nice job, I'd love to do that to mine but getting everything out would suck.

Epoxy floor is the way to go! Looking great!

When I bought my house last year brand new, I had almost a full week between when we closed and moved in and I went in and did the Epoxy floor myself. I was able to get clear on it too along with the anti-skid feature (epoxy floors are INSANELY slippery if any water or liquids get on them) and was able to get it done before moving in.

It is still one of the best changes/upgrades to the house that I've done. Looks awesome

Looking good. Its making me want my old garage back! I just did the Home Depot epoxy- Industrial strength. But I did not do the clear coat. I am wondering if the clear coat protects from scratching etc. That was the one thing I did not like was how easily it scratched with my dog and moving things around. You should let us know how it wears.

By the way that step is nice. Alot of the time that step is used to raise your goods up and out of the way from the main part of the garage. That way you can take a hose and spray it out when you need to. I'll definitely be doing a step on my next house I build. Good work.

Looks great! A big garage is definitely high on the priority list for buying my house when I return to the mainland next year.
