i've been using simple green, but read the back today and it says to not use on dashboards....

what do you guys use to clean the insides of your truck?

 

i use the megs natural shine you can get it at autozone and oreillys. Very Good Stuff i think

 

What are you cleaning off of it?

If it's just simple dust and very light grime, I prefer a product like Meguiar's Quik Detailer Interior.

If you've got grease adn a little heavier version of gunk, going to a product like Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner Plus (at a 10:1 dilution) is a great choice.

Once you've cleaned it, protect it... I really like Poorboy's Natural Look Dressing.

QDI can be had at your local 'mart' store. The other two are going to be order it products...

Hope that helps a tad (and, definitely, don't use Simple Green on your dash!!!).

It's just a very aggressive cleaner. I mean, something that can degrease a grill can't be that great for a plastic-based (plastic is oil based, mind you) product...

Their marketing people have done a brilliant job in selling folks on it being 'very very safe' for everything. To a certain extent, it is pretty safe but, on things like plastics or things that may color-bleed or have certain ingredients that serve as UV inhibitors, it may rapidly degrade that type of a product... (ie: your dash).

I doubt you'd see much of a problem in the short term using it. In fact, I'll go out on a limb here and say that it's unlikely that you'd ever see a problem but, to be safe and not risk causing a blotchy look on your dash or, even worse, causing the plastic to slightly melt/warp, I wouldn't use it...

Remember on the APC+... dilute properly. I highly recommend snagging an APC+ secondary bottle as it makes dilutions a snap.

 

Aerospace 303 does a nice job on the dash.

 

Everything that Rockpick said, plus this little gem. For simple once or twice a week cleaning, I use a Swiffer Duster cloth. They do an amazing job.

i thin kthe Meguiars quik interior detail works good

 

i just used megs HD in 4:1 on my dash and other plastics on the truck, it really pops now

 

I wish i had those detailing stuff here. I only use black magic, it does a good job and protects from UV rays.

 

I never thought of that and have one sitting right next to me....wife uses it in the house all the time. GREAT IDEA for a quick dusting.

 

Another vote for 303, I really like it. Nice low gloss finish.

 

Mine never gets real filthy but the Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer with a micro fiber cloth is fine for me. Also doesn't that Simple Green leave a strong aftermath scent? I would certainly cease use of that anythere inside your truck. Keep it for under body and tires.

 

Megs #40 vinyl cleaner on all interior plastics and dash, quik detailer on the door jams etc.
