Bissell LGM or just a Shop Vac and Brush?

I've been throwing around the idea of getting a LGM but I was wondering is it really worth buying one if I have a Shop Vac and I could just use some APC and a good brush to get rid of some stains on my seats. Any opinions on whether or not I should get the LGM? I figure I'll give the Shop Vac a try and see how it turns out in the mean time.

I have one but the one I have has the extra heating element in it, seems to help out. I also use FOLEX, a commercial carpet cleaner, works great. YMMV!

Man, I hate to be the only dissenting vote, but here goes. I have the LGM (without the heater) and I'm very not impressed. The spray pattern is too wide and the suction is only so-so. Recently I tried hot water and Folex in a spray bottle followed by my Sears Shop Vac for removal. I think it worked at least equally well. If I didn't already have a LGM - and had a shop vac - I think I'd pass. Just my 2 cents though.

Hmmm interesting. Looks like I'll give the shop vac a go and see how it does.

Anyone else?

I am getting the Bissell LGM with the Proheat here for my anniversary here in a couple weeks and I can't wait. I've had the chance to try one out at a demo at the local Home Deopt and was really impressed with everything... Being the neat freak as I am when it comes to my 07 F-150, I made sure my Girlfriend knew what to get me. Lol...
