I use WD40 on a small cotton rag to remove just about any sticky residue. Works like a charm. Rub it in, let it set a minute then rub it out.

Have you tried washing it with soap and water, car wash soap that is? If that doesn't work try claying it, and then if you have to resort to wd 40 use it, then wash your truck and put a coat of wax over where you used the wd 40

You can also try using adhesive remover from 3M or other companies.

It is for the most part. however...

I took some off that had been on my old truck for about 6-7 years.
It was a job for sure.
Just take it in steps. Least aggressive first. Here's the order I used till I finally got mine cleaned off. Mine wasn't just the old glue since it had been so long. So it was adhesive, old wax, dirt, etc...

1. I'll assume you've tried soap or you wouldn't be asking for help.
2. try the clay. Although I doubt that will work if it's been on there very long.
3. If it's available use an agressive clay
4. WD-40
5. goo-gone
6. lighter fluid (this finally started removing the gunk)

It can get more harsh but that's as far as I got on mine.
also see if you can get some plastic razor blades. They helped quite a bit.
And don't forget that if you use anything more harsh than soap to slap some wax on it when you're done.

g'luck.

If that doesn't work, you can use gas on it as well.

I've used goof off when removing my door moldings on my steel gray M6, and when removing the dealer tag on my F150.

When using things like goof off and goo gone, you can't just go in scrubbing. Treat the paint like its your newborns face.
