That's too bad another family owned business down the drain!
Mequiar's will fall to corporate greed and cut cost ie people and quality of product!
Once the downward spiral starts it's impossible to stop!

#16 isn't sold because of the VOC....that's the only reason. It has nothing to do with Meguiar's being incapable of distributing it.

Well #16 is a very popular wax, and they arent not distributing it in the US because they dont believe in it. The VOC compliance has made it the way it is now and meguiar's selling out isnt going to change that. But 3M products are great, ultrafina is one of the best products i own...but they are also very expensive and distribution is not half as good as meguiars...so im sure the price will be going up and distribution will go down....or well i should say that that is my guess...it doesnt make much sense to me but i guess the dollar $$ did to meguiars

i guess when i made the reply about the #16 it is due to the fact that alot of things that are not sold out west are avalible else where (i heard of the voc's but did not know it was only out west)....

alot of lawn equipment are not sold in ca but sold else where....vehicles have different emission standards for different states, car sold in ark may not pass ca emmisions with less than one mile on it...things like pressure treated wood, stains and water sealers for wood are not the same in ca as they are in the rest of the usa....

megs is a ca based company....if bought by 3m it will be based out of mn....now having both current 3m and meg dealers you might see the avalibility go up in all of the product lines of both products....3m selling alot of paint products and commercial chemicals i am sure some are sold in places that can not be sold in ca....

so in the end only time will tell what is to happen

while I can see this affecting a lot of things, distribution, price, product line, etc., the one thing I CAN'T see it affecting is quality. 3M is a first class operation that makes first class products. There is no way they bought Meg's to run the product into the ground.

This will be interesting to watch, for sure.

They could just be buying the company and do not intend to alter their products in any way.
