What do you think?

Hey guys, I've seen a lot of different choices some of you guys made when it came to what kind/brand of buffer you use. I was wondering what y'all recommend to a newbie for a good easy to use buffer/polisher. Any tips?

I guess the first question would be how much are you will to spend?

Either way, I have the G100 (a essentially a rebadged Porter Cable), and it's pretty good for my "nooby" self.

That's something that I forgot to ask - Thanks lol. What do they normally go for?
Kind of looking at a (nasty word but..) "Cheap" to moderate price range...

This is what I'd recommend and in this order.

G100/PC 7424
Flex
The Ultimate Detailing Machine & G110

The G100 is a relabeled Porter Cable 7424 sold by Meguiars. However when Meguiars came out with the G110 and it didn't sell so well they cut the G100. The G110 comes with a 1 year warranty. So unless you can find a "old" G100 sitting in a warehouse, get the Porter Cable 7424. It's a solid machine and it'll fit your needs.

The Flex is a LOT more powerful of a machine. It's a lot nicer in all aspects, especially the variable speed trigger. Flex claims that it is idiot proof but I beg to differ. I believe someone could cause some damage with one if they didn't know what they were doing.

The G110 is a good machine. However, I don't ever recommend anyone buying it without trying it out in their hands. This is a problem a lot of time though. I've played with one a few times and could never get the hang of how it felt in my hands. The G100/PC 7424 feels great in your hands while the G110 just feels awkward. "The Ultimate Detailing Machine" is essentially a "souped" up G100/PC 7424. It's definitely not the same machine but the style is very similar. I have heard of a lot of reliability problems with them though.

So with all of that said, the best choice is probably the Porter Cable 7424. I'd recommend checking out AutoGeek.net to purchase. I'd recommend ADS but they do not sell the PC 7424, just the G110. I hope this helps ...
