cleaning ccs pads
cleaning ccs pads
I am having some trouble cleaning ccs pads. I have some pad rejuvenater that I purchased along with the pads, poorboys lineup and pc all from autogeek.( which is a great company to do buisness with.) I soaked the pads then scrubbed them with a brush. But there is always still some product that oozes out from the middle, the working surface is clean. Is this normal, do I need to ???? I dont know. I wring them out numerous times, but still product shows up. Thanks for any help and thanks for all the great info on this forum!
Yeah mine look new as well on the outside but if I wring them out and press the water out of them product oozes out through working side. Maybe this is normal, This is my second time using them and it happened both times. So maybe i'll get better with time.
Yes it is normal.
Try this, soak them in a rinse bucket with water and Murphys Oil soap..over night.
Then use your hands to get the dried surface product out...the product soaked up on the inside will get loose by using the MOS. To rinse, take them inside and run warm water over them...then to get the soaked in product out...bend the pad in half like a taco...use your index finger and thumb and start at the bottom of the "taco" and slide your fingers up and you will see tons of product come out. then rinse again and make the taco again in another angle.
Does that make sense? The White CCS pad and the Black seem to soak up a lot of product but you will rarely see the Green, Orange and Yellow do that...if you do, you are using too much product.
This is also pretty typical of using PB products too b/c once the pad is loaded there is more product there then meets the eye so when you add more product to the pad for the next section you are also putting more inside the pad if that make sense too. It happens more on the less dense pads, white, black, blue, the new green finishing CCS pad and the red.
When you are finished with that, give a final rinse and then get all the water you can out...you can also put them back on the DA or Flex or whatever you are using and spin the the remaning water out...(Wrap your DA with an old MF so you don't shock yourself) then place them on a towel to air dry...you may want to flip them over once during that process too.
Think CCS pads are hard to clean? Try the VC pads....
Good luck.

Thanks again for all the help thats was I starting to do the "taco" fold, it was working but I did not want to damage the pads. The blue is the worst. Love those poorboy products. I am goind to try and post some pictures of two of the vehicles I have done this week to try and get some feedback. I don't seem to be getting the results I expected. It is a work in progress though. But that is another thread later. Thanks again to all
