HD question

Hey guys,

I am new to the OCD style, but, have been reading and admiring much of the work you all have shown off.

I now have a prime reason to be OCD. LOL I bought a 08 Expy XLT it is Suede white.

I ordered PBEX to help keep my paint in good shape. DA to come soon.(gotta love factory orange peel)
(any tips or experiences using this product I need know about?)

I have a question about HD. Are you guys putting it on the interior as well?

Thanks!

You can use it inside diluted 4:1 but the grape smell is a little much. You would be better off using Optimum Protectant Plus or 303.

I only use Hyperdressing on the outside of the vehicles. 1:1 on tires. 3:1 for everything else including wheel wells, undercarriage, etc. I use Poorboy's Natural Look Dressing for the interiors, it's awesome.

From the sticky:

DA
Dual Action Polisher. The detailer's weapon of choice. Generally refers to the Porter Cable 7424 Dual Action Polisher. Used mostly for defect removal in paint. Can also be used for last step product (LSP) application and removal.
http://www.autodetailingsolutions.co...20Specials.htm

Not much mention of what it will and will not do there. And the PDF has no mention of the DA and orange peel.

Do you advise he jump strait to a rotory on that new Expy?

Go with the PB products. I love them. http://www.autogeek.net/pbnl16.html#

Yes, I have read the sticky(s). Thank you! (Patting you on the back)

The orange peel is not the worst I have seen, and, I think the DA will take it out. (may take a bit longer of course) I am not going to touch this thing with a rotory, I need a more idiot proof method. Now, my f150 on the other hand, I would not hesitate to hit it with a rotory. It will be my guinne pig when I get a rotory, because, it is getting a new paint job in the near future anyways.

I believe I will go with the PB natural look. I will wait for the HD, for, when I get back in the states next year.

Thank you all for your input. Any more opinions or advice is greatly welcomed. Thanks again!

Would you advise I just go for the rotory and get to practice on my F150 before I attempt the Expy?

I haven't bought either yet, so, now is a good time to make a uniform decision.

Thanks guys for your advise.

i would advise on making the orange peel be as clean and swirl free as possible and live with it as it is....

the clear is thin, ford doesnt give you a whole lot to work with, this is an oem paint job...you picked white so be happy with what it is...imo a cut and buffed white does not come close to the looks of a dark car. its not worth the work that it will take to do it and it would be very dangerous to attempt to do on a oem paint job...that expy would take about 5 full days to do it right and thats pushing 10 hour days...

side note not to get into colorsanding too much, but it takes more than just a rotary to get rid of the orange peel

Thank you for your advise.

Like I said before, it isn't a real bad peel.

I think you are imagining it being the worst case sinario. But, thank you for your input.
