senior pictures soon...

alright im getting my senior pictures soon because i want to get some up in Roscommon michigan where we have a cabin. Ill be up there with my dog, truck and quad and my cousin is a semi-professional photographer. so now i am loaded with questions!!

A) any suggestions for poses or shots that would look cool. its a 2000 f150 red 31" BFGS leveled via torsion bars tinted to match front windows and trifecta tonneau. I know alot of you are into photography so i am really looking forward to what you have to say.

Now onto the real detailing questions. I am looking at getting a DA around the 200-250 range. I like autogeek because of the iffy reviews of the g110. nothing real serious wrong with my paint just light to very light moderate swirls. thus my plan is to 1.wash 2.clay 3.M80 (as many passes as needed) 4.#9 or #7 5.NXT2.0 6.#26

i've narrowed it down to this package with the things i need thrown in.

Porter Cable Intro Pad Kit with FREE BONUS $169.99
Meguiars Mirror Glaze #80 Professional Speed Glaze $16.99
Meguiars Mirror Glaze #9 Swirl Remover 2.0 [remove] $11.99
Pinnacle XMT Pad Care Combo $19.99

Total: $218.96

should i go with #7 rather than 9? i picked 9 because of its defect removal properties.

this package with 80 and 9 added is one cent more than the one above. would i ever use the extra pads?? this

ill probably have more questions soon. thanks alot you have all been a big help here.

is there an actual league of semi-pro photographers, or is it just a self given title?

I call myself semi-pro... I take pics that get sold, so I take great shots sometimes, but I am not a 'pro'...

Anywho, when I get back home, I will try to get you some pose ideas.

Also-- go for the #9 IMO-- #7 was primarily designed for SS paint then tweaked... Although #9 doesnt have great defect removal properties, it has excellent concealing properties, thus it certainly has its place...

Looks like a good package for the coin you want to invest.

Will be back on in a while

Okay...here are a few ideas... I will try to take some with my truck or use someone at the FD to pose while I get more ideas.

I may need more than a few hours, though... we just got slammed here, but I didnt want to let you down.

try a google image search of: senior picture car .....then look for the guy with the orange shirt and a red GMC truck...

then check out this one (clicky)

Then this one (again, clicky)

Then, here. Ignore the fact that its an old guy. Picture you there...

This one is pretty neat; however, I would highlight yourself, too, not just the car. This photo makes it look like the car is more important... But if you were wearing a red shirt or a red tie, or even if they just left you in color, it works nicely. HERE

This one's always pretty popular with the girlfriend(s)... guess why... HERE

Okay... gotta go to work again...

those are pretty cool ideas. thanks alot for your help. its not till late august so no rush here.

i dunno how well that black and white pose would work seeing as i am only 5'7". lol but the black and white idea is cool. (or a stump)

i was thinking about a kick *** flex shot with the front tire up on a rock and me sitting in front of the rock.

also once i get this DA i am going to practice on my sisters black 94 buick. it has some nice swirls to work on. a few places the clear has started to disappear should i stay away from these areas to prevent further damage or can i just go right over them without the DA removing more clear around the edges of the problem area. let me know if you need pictures.

If you can get a pic of your truck up, that would help me figure out better ideas... If it is lifted/4x4/etc, then some poses look dumb and others look excellent; however, if it is dropped on dubs, then a whole new look would work. Also, find some ways to describe yourself. Remember, although you want to look extra nice for senior pictures, the whole purpose is to capture who YOU ARE, not some stock image. Therefore, you should put the following info up, if you are willing (you can do it here or email me if you prefer) :

1. A pic of your truck
2. A pic of you
3. what stuff you like to do/interested in
4. Anything else about you

Why? Because that helps the photographer capture 'you'.

For example: if you were going to get a decent shot of your dog (lets say you have an energetic Jack Russell), you could take pics of it resting or asleep. However, a great shot that captures who the dog is and its personality would be one of it playing. Catch my drift?

Anywho, I know, it kinda sounds invasive, but I promise-- it will make the shots 1000x better and more meaningful.

My senior pics had some that were nothing like me, and thus we never ordered them (ie: they wanted me to go lay next to a little stream in a wooded area... DUMB IDEA! I would be the one IN the stream, but they didnt go for that idea...)... Point is, make the shots worth it-- they aren't cheap...

this is my truck. now it has the front windows tinted to match the back ones and a vertical grill overlay. ill get some more pics up after i get the DA and get it clean.

as for the pictures of me that is going to have to wait seeing as that the site wont let me add photos right now....

i like sports. i still play football and thats my favorite. i played basketball and baseball. just stopped playing baseball this year actually. i love hunting. i love the outdoors.

my quad is an 04 honda rancher olive green if thats pertinent and my dog is a beefy purebred yellow lab.

thats all i can really think of other than that im only 5'7 1/4" and yess the 1/4" is quite important.

the shots should be pretty cheap seeing as its my cousin and he does it mostly out of joy. about the fake image. if it were my choice id be either shirtless or a full cut off with camo pants and steel toes. lol

I think entire vehicle shots with the owner are cool. Frontal view with the wheel turned. Here is one of me and my truck to get the idea, regualr point and shoot on a hot day.
