I was in the middle of cleaning my house when it dawned on me, I have a great idea for a thread, that other OCD'rs might just might enjoy discussing.
Well as the title refers to I am wondering how many of us use our detailing supplies in other ways then intended around the house.

I use my wheel sealant on my polished fixtures around the house that get wet to that they will shine up nicely and avoids all those hard water stains. I also wax my shower stall walls so to avoid the hard water stains, one of my biggest pet peeves. I also have started to use microfiber towels(no longer acceptable for my paint) to clean with. I am much happier with the way they preform over my normal towels. I have been using HD on my extension cords, and various items around the house(this is courtesy of RR!). And I like to use the leather rejuvenator on my leather. I have once tried to polish my granite counter tops with a polish out of seer bore dumb I would say it really didnt do anything other then amuse me for a couple of hours. So there is my little list of outside the garage thinking with my detailing supplies. Hoping for some more so lets hear it.

I've used plastix on my toilet seat.

 

I use the Meguiar's leather stuff on my leather shoes. Tried to buff scratches out of my old phone before, but that didn't work too well.

I usually do it the other way

comet to clean stock wheels, simple green as auto degreaser (before they came out with auto grade SG) windex for glass cleaner

 

I'll use old MFs to dust with, they work much better than paper towels or regular "rags".

 

ive washed the marble flooring in our hall with a combo of rain-x wash and wax and meguiars deep crystal wash

 

I Rain-X the shower glass and I have waxed the cultured marble counter tops. My wife thinks I am nuts.

 

Microfibers work great for cleaning tv and computer screens. I am sure there are other products I use in the house, but can't think of them.

 

Ya that rain-x on the shower door is sounding like my next idea. Last night I did however put the fog-x on the mirror in the bathroom to see what it would do. And it still fogs up but not quite as bad.

 

I tried Fog-X on my truck, and it was worse then when I didnt have it. I find that keeping my interior glass clean is the best bet... Rain-X likes me though...

Anywho, I use APC+ for carpet/upholstry spot cleaning, Stoners on glass/mirrors/etc, HD on all sorts of stuff, MF's out the wazoo, I have clayed my shades after painting, I just got Johnson Wood Floor wax today to try out on some of the furniture/floors, Chrome polish on bathroom fixtures and on glass shower doors (Thanks for that tip, Boss), etc...

Brasso made it into the house stuff for cars category...

And I have never tried that gross idea of using Plast-X on the toilet seat... GROSS!!! Dont you clean your toilet cufootn???

Rain X on my home windows and glass patio tables,
Wheel dressing on the kids bike tires, wagon wheels and wheel barrow tire.
quick detailer spray on bathroom tiles makes the water/soap bead off for easier cleaning.
Meq's wax on the mailbox. See....
