Expensive Waxes !?

What do you guys have in your arsenal that you consider expensive? Also what is your take on that product and finally would you recommend it.

I consider #16 one of my "expensive" waxes because of the rarity of it. I also just purchased Pinnacle Souverän™ Paste Wax but I haven't had a chance to use it yet due to my surgery.

I'm considering purchasing Fuzion since it's not too much more than the Souveran when you consider you get one free refill. I also want to try out Chemical Guys 5050 Limited Edition or Chemical Guys Pete's 53. Anyone try it? What's your opinion? Etc? Now I want to hear what you guys have to say about your expensive waxes. Knowledge is power.

Most expensive I have is #16 and Natty's Red. Haven't ever tried a really expensive wax. Have thought about trying some higher end Zymol stuff. Not any of the $1000+ stuff but some of their $50 - $100 stuff. I used their consumer line stuff for years prior to me switching to Meg's and always had pretty good results.

The most expensive wax I own would be #16. I'm one of those that believe the proper prep is FAR more important than the cost of the wax applied in the end.

I agree completely. A lot of people don't realize it either.

However, I still want to buy some. What do you think of those two Chemical Guys waxes? Have you heard anything about them?

Souveran, p21s100%, and zymol concours. Im gonna break down and buy fuzion next week, although there havent been many reviews of it yet, Id figure Id give it a try first. The three I have are all great waxes, and all look amazing on certain colors.

Sounds good. I broke down last night and ordered a bunch of stuff from Pak Shak. Two tubs of Natty's Red, Chemical Guys 5050, Chemical Guys Pete 53, and some other stuff.

Natty's Red isn't too terrible though, ~$32.

With the proper pre-waxing I find its hard to beat #26 and a foam pad.
BUT, it depends on the vehicle and the paint, which is not all created equal.

Ever used #21 2.0? I know they are very different in terms of what they are made up of, but any chance you could compare them?

The only #26 I have is a hand me down from a friend and it is so old I'm certain it has gone bad. I won't be using it any time soon... lol

#26 is basically Meguiars Gold Class and the replacement of #16. #16 looks better than #26, not by much, but the durability is really where it shows it's strength. #26 lasts a month where as #16 would last a full detailing cycle, IMO. #21 is basically NXT. It's going to give some of that saran type look, offer great protection, and have slight cleaning properties.

Gotcha. I knew the whole #21 = NXT thing but for use on high speed machines from the Meguiar's class I attended.

Who here uses #26? Is it a worth-while LSP to use after #21? Anyone use it before? I've tried a thing or two in combination with the #21 2.0 and so far it isn't even visibly different.

#21 topped with #26 is a great combination. Dark colors are going to benefit here, it'll make them look much deeper, wetter, darker, etc. Also the #26 will get rid of the saran wrap type effect. #26 is a great LSP as far as looks good. It just does not have any durability, IMO, so you have to decide if that's something you can do. At least with the #21 will provide great protection and the #26 will give you great looks. I'm pretty sure you know but also keep in mind that #21 or NXT will need 12 hours of cure time before applying anything over it.

My "expensive wax" list goes Pinnacle Souverign > Nattys Red > #26 > NXT. My wax of choice? So far, Nattys Red. Seems to have looks like that of the Souverign, and it lasts longer too (IMO). I did an experiment on my buddy's F-250. Paint was 10 years old in less than stellar shape. Did a side by side of the four above on the hood. NXT looked the best on it.
