Absolutely correct, but maybe not for the reason most folks might think. If you apply almost any product to a hot surface, you risk immediately "flashing off" some of the more volatile components and / or baking on others. When I'm washing the chrome 20's on my truck after I've driven it, I make sure to spray the wheels (and rotors) until they're cool to the touch. If I don't, I've found that i bake all sorts of stuff back on.
