Yep, do as glc recommends...I detailed my truck yesterday (no pics yet as it was finished at 11PM with no lighting whatsoever and I'm at work now) and accidently dropped my piece of clay on the ground. I was not thrilled when that went straight into the trash can...

And speaking of black trucks, I own one as well. Everything I do is by hand and here's what I did, and the truck looks meticulous...
  • Meg's Gold Class Wash
  • Clay
  • Meg's Step 1 Paint Cleaner (would have done Step 2 also but my arms were already killing me)
  • Poorboy's Black Hole
  • Poorboy's EX-P
  • Meg's Hyperdressing on trim and tires
  • Poorboy's Wheel Sealant on rims

Two weekends from now I'm going to rewash the truck and put on some #16. I'm an absolute fan of the Black Hole and EX-P, after just one use. I've never seen a black truck look so dam* good!!!

This was my first detail since I bought the truck. I had a sedan prior that I "detailed" which was significantly smaller than the F-150. After doing so many steps by hand I have vowed that by the time the next detail is up I will own a Flex!!

I know, I know... I'll get them up ASAP but it might be Monday night at the earliest. As soon as I get off work my girlfriend and I are packing up the truck and heading out to West Texas. I won't be back until Monday evening.

Thanks, I might try some of that next time. I've already started though, just taking a quik break to eat and stuff. And man, i'm very, very pleased with my results so far. I washed this morning with turtle wax car wash (didnt feel like buying a new bottle of Megs), clayed the entire truck, and now have put one coat of ColorX and it has done wonders to my paint. My paint isnt in the greatest condition because it gets parked outside under an oak tree for shade. But, man that ColorX has restored a lot of the faded looking spots from the water and from what i can see, most or all of the swirls. I'll probably put a another coat of ColorX on, and then try out the NXT tech wax.

I probably wont be able to get pictures up until monday either, my mom has the camera and shes in alabama. I'll proabably do her mustang for her and might be able to get some before and afters on it.

btw, anyone tried that stuff for clear plastic from meguiars? got some, but if it doesn't work too good i'll just take it back.

Cody

If your talking about PlastX i've heard nothing but good things come from that product. Used on headlights it restores them nicely, so i've heard.
