Wash Mitt?

Just curious, whats everybody using for a wash mitt? How many washes do you use it for? Any special way you clean it between uses?

Random MF mit, not sure of brand but its a very good one from Autozone, I wash it on gentle, and a spoon of vinegar per MF keeps them quite well.

I bought a few chenille wash mitts from Tropi-Care a few years ago. They have held up great so far. I wash them on a gentle cycle with mild laundry detergent and I use 1/2 ounce of white distilled vinegar just like I do for all of my MF items. I am really looking forward to trying the SM Arnold mitts in the future though. They are thought of very highly by a lot of guys on this forum.

One of the best readily available OTC sheepskin mits is the Detailer's Preference" (Eurow) mit from Wal-Mart. They are consistently good performers.

Price and locale aside, a very top-notch mit is the sheepskin from SM Arnold. Mostly mailorder though.

I have both, and while you can tell the difference between the 2, the difference is small.

SM Arnold Lambs Wool Mitt, it's by far the best mitt out there that I've tried.

I'm currently using a Meguiars wash mit but I'm wondering about those ones that look like microfiber dreadlocks, lol. Seemed real soft by feel and mine is over a year old and not feeling as soft as when new.

Dont wast your time with one of those. I had a couple and they seem to snag on everything and pull apart.

I found that out the hard way about the dredlock mitts - after the first wash it became my grunge mitt.

You guys that get woodies over the SM - have you seen or tried the Eurow or the Turtle? You do have to pick through them on the rack - the quality is very variable.

I'm not seeing the Eurow much anymore ... Wal-Mart used to keep it on the shelf but, in all honesty, I was never all that impressed with it - and I've bought way more than a couple of them while in a pinch.

The SW Arnold 85-340 mitt is really a great mitt. I've been using it for several years now and always come back to it... in fact, I have 4 in plastic the garage right now.

so the general concensus is to go with a lambs wool mitt over microfiber mitts?

I have a few mitts and the Micro fiber is the worst. I use it to clean the brake dust off my rims.

I agree. The one around here rarely has them and when they do they look like they were used to do some dusting.

The Turtle mitts feel a lot different than the SM Arnolds. Which is why I've never bought any ...
