May cleanout !!

It has been a full 4 months since this truck has seen any washing. The last time it seen soap was when we had the Kentucky meet in Lexington in mid winter. Before the meet I washed, stripped the wax, polished, then waxed. It looked pretty good to me. But I finally got a day off from work where the wife isn't nagging me to be with her.

But worked in a steel mill sucks very badly. Dirt, and grit cover my truck the instant I set foot on property. I ended up claying the whole thing and OMG did I find a lot of crap still left over. Even after a double washing.

But after 4 months, my previous wax job still held up very well. Here is what I have after the bath and claying.

No my golden retriever is not built funny.

But here is the finished side shot.

I still have some more stuff to do to this thing. That friggin dirt there at the mill when it gets wet sets up like concrete underneath. So I have to literally pressure wash for 5 minutes to get this stuff off.

And lastly, the damn fender flares. Washing previously has left a lot of buildup on them and they look very nasty. I am going to try some Turtle Wax Ice on them since that stuff is completely useless on the paint itself.

I will post up some more shots later of the finished flares to show how they look. Plus I still have to polish and wax it.

More pics coming soon !!!!

Sweet. I'd spray the fender wells down, spray some straight Simgle Green on them, and than pressure wash it. Followed with a tire dressing like Hyperdressing. I've heard decent things about using Turtle Wax Ice on the fender flares and black plastics like them.

And here is the final outcome of a claying, polish, and double waxing.

And here is a picture of my #1 helper of the day. He watched all day.

I snapped this photo while I was waiting for a quick sprinkle to go by to finish my waxing earlier.

Anyways I am heading back out now to start the detailing on the inside of the truck now.

While not perfect, I am whooped after 7 hours of detailing so I went half-*** with this cleaning job.

The second picture in this series was before I touched up the drivers side area a second time. So it looks much better now.

Looks fantastic, but I have to know about your camera... I am interested in a Digital SLR, so any input is appreciated

Great photos, BTW. I knew even before the pic of you that it had to be someone with a mind for photography--namely the second pic in post #5 or the grass one... Great photos, great work on detailing.

You into photography, too??? Interesting.... I am beginning to see a correlation between the OCD-ers and photography. But I have to ask: are you OCD about your lawn?

Heres why I ask: JP, RP, and myself are all OCD about our trucks, our lawns, and are good camera-operating-folk. (I dont know if RP is into photography or if he is naturally gifted, though). Perhaps the OCD bug has a correlation to getting the shot just right, thus an interest in picture-taking...

I am curious now... But I am going to bed. Drill weekend...yay...

Canon EOS 40d with a 28-155mm IS lens.

You can pick up a basic SLR for like 700 bucks. I went a notch up from there and got the 1400 dollar model. Love every shot I take usually.

If you liked that grass photo, I have a small gallery going on.
