Use the cleaner wax or go directly to the NXT 2.0???

I am going to clay my wife's CV tomorrow or next week-end depending on the weather. I got the Meg's kit. I already have the NXT 2.0, Scratch-X, and Collonite 845. Should I use the the Cleaner/Wax that comes with the kit at all or go from clay to Scratch-X as necessary to NXT to the 845?

I'd snub the cleaner wax, personally.

Works for me, one less step.

Sight unseen, I have no idea what I'd do if I was you...

Understood.
Paint is sound, car always under cover. As far as defects, it's pretty much FUBAR as the wife and kids have drug their purses across it, put them on the hood/roof/trunk, etc...I have no delusions of getting all of the scratches out, some are too deep, really wouldn't be much of a point anyways, just want to get the best out of it I can. Right now there is a lot of crap in the paint and don't want to waste time 'waxing' without getting the most benefit that I can out of it. Didn't know if the cleaner/wax that came with it is necessary to the process, or if the NXT is a good next step.

Now, in a couple of weeks I do want to bring the shine out in my 250, I'd appreciate some tips on that so I don't have to re-paint it.

I certainly hope you're joking... If that's the truck, you need to either forget it or repaint it...

Anyway, if you want to get the most out of waxing, then I'd use the Cleaner wax. Then, if you dont mind adding a step, maybe do the NXT on top. Granted, usually NXT isnt preceded by another wax, but since it has light cleaners and fillers, I think you will be fine.

Going strictly from your description, I think I'd do it this way - clay it, then use the cleaner wax. Inspect it, use ScratchX where needed, then do the NXT.

Is, is, is there something wrong with my truck?????? Please don't tell me it's hopeless. I was hoping that a little hyperdressing would really pick it up some.

Yeah, it's a joke about the truck. That was actually a 'rescue' that I bought off of a farm. It was being used for cutting hay and everything else on a small cattle farm. I ran it about two years hauling stuff to and from the gun club and home improvement stores. It was on it's second motor, and, obviously, original paint. Had 350,000 miles on it.The original motor was replaced when it overheated cutting hay and the radiator got clogged. It has since been returned to the grandson of the original owner as his first truck. I just wanted to give Rockpick a hard time.

I'm just trying to keep it from deteriorating. Clean, the car looks fantastic. It's the sport package so it's not the "old man's" CV. I want to get another 5 years out of it before I get the wife something else.

NXT 2.0 looks great and seems to be very durable. I don't top it with carnauba. I do hit it with Ultimate Quick detailer after a wash.
