Looks way better!! Mine looks like crap from the sun here in AZ I need to do this..

 

I'm actually thinking of hitting them up again... I didn't do any priming or anything last time and only clear coated the one side. Some of the paint has started to come off, but it still looks better than before painting.

Does anybody know how to make this cowling fit back properly? My life side keeps popping up, like the tabs are worn out.

For two years of looking good and not always wiping it down and fraction of cost i'm in lol this weekend i hope to get around to it

 

I painted my cowling two years ago. Between hot, humid summers, frigid cold, snowy winters and year round dust and dirt, the fusion paint job has held up fairly well. In the little square openings where moisture collects, there's some chipping, but it's not really noticeable. A quick coat of Black Wow or some other protectant brings it right back. Oh and yes, the left side panel has never fit flush. When the truck was under warranty, I had services look at it and they could never get it right. They offered to reorder it, I should have taken them up on it, but it was taking way too much time. Instead, use a self-tapping, stainless sheet metal screw to fasten the two halves. Works like a wonder.

The cowlings, front-air dam, door handle plastic and, who can forget the bed rail caps, are all fading badly on my truck.
