I use blue myself with no issues, and like mentioned I also use it on my glass. It definitely helps to clay your glass....for sure.

For my money, I'd stick with the tried and true clay. Blue is one way to go but...

If you have simple overspray (as in a light misting - not globs), the regular clay that you have should do the trick. Remember, you can work an area more than once -- in fact, it's recommended to go over the same area a time or two to ensure full removal.

How serious of a try did you give it the first time?

My 'old' clay typically goes to my windows to finish out it's effective lifespan... one thing stays the same though - if it hits the ground, it's trash.

no worries i cut it into chuncks as soon as i got it just like the detailing sticky said. i rubbed each spot until it felt smooth with the clay. this weekend ill try it again but im afraid i have more than i thought and it might take a jump to the next level of clay

Lots of lubrication and go after it...

Might be a dumb question but, you're sure this is overspray of some variety, correct? I mean, we're not dealing with road paint or some industrial coating, correct?

If you are going to use the sponge, you need a bucket of soapy water. You have to squeeze the sponge while using it to keep a lubricating film on the surface - and constantly resoak the sponge. If it even starts running dry, you will mar the paint surface.
