2 questions for emig5m:

1. Can you top LG with something else? (ie: #26)
2. If so, what does the result look like/effects noticed?

BTW-- on the LG site, they say that the steel wool is for re-painting... I would hope you dont do that normally...

On that note, how do you get it off if Dawn is no-workie? Abrasive polishing?

I never tried topping it with anything, sorry. Yea, it is pretty strong/durable on its own. From what I remember, it will still bead water (better then a fresh coat of NXT) and shine well after multiple washes with dawn. If they could just get the swirl hiding ability of NXT2.0/Autoglym it would be the perfect single step (for lazy bums like me) "Acrylic" look sealant. I wish I could just buy one use samples of everything because I like to try something new every time it's time for a wax/sealant, heh.

I know what LG is. I have it in my garage next to all my cleaning supplies. LG is what I used to always use. It seems that all over this site and most sites, along with car shows and car washes, most people praise wax over LG. The original post said wax with LG, so I was just informing it was not a wax. LG says, Ultimate Auto Polish/Finish. (with a formula that contains no wax) right below it on the front. I wasnt trying to be a smart *** and shoot someone down and claim they have no clue what they were talking about, like some people had no problem doing to me. I was just offering knowlege. I use LG. I have not yet waxed my truck, only LG. But reading a lot of posts on this site convinced me to give it a try.

oh. and thanks to the guys that helped me out with what wax and stuff to get. ive just been too busy, and lazy, to do it. Im used to just washing it good, and then applying LG to it. i love how easy it is to break down then wipe off to a shine. then detailing trim, windows, and interior. Its so much easier than those 3 step processes or whatever with cleaner and wax. Im scared im gonna do it and the final product wont look as nice as the LG, but they claim its more protective, so Ill give it a try.

My can of LG says to use fine steel wool for removel, lol. Meg's says NXT beads water relentlessly, heh, you haven't seen relentless beading until you seen water bead on LG. Too bad it doesn't seem to do jack for hiding/removing swirls. The pic above was from a truck that was brand new (only had a little over 1000 miles on it when the pic was taken) so just one coat with LG and it was good to go.

I'd definitely have to order some #83 and a cut pad for my PC if I wanted to go back to LG since my truck I have now I got used with plenty of swirls from improper washing that LG just wouldn't cover up like NXT/AutoGlym does. I don't know how that "Acrylic" look would look on my red, but I thought it looked surreal almost like the terminator 2 liquid metal on the Sonic Blue, lol. I don't really have a favorite look, I have from LG to #26 in my collection and they're both just about the opposite of each other, I like to switch it up sometimes and just go with a completely different look. But I don't know how I would beat this on my red though:

That's all 100% done by hand.... Just look at the deep shine, seems like you can just reach in and grab something...heh...I can tell you guys got the drool hangin' from the chin...hehe. That's AutoGlym Super Resin Polish+NXT with a UQD final wipe down. What swirls? Ya, they're there, underneath all the cover up, I've just become a master at hiding them by hand, heh. Gotta order some #83 and just get rid of them.... should 83 be followed up by something a little less aggressive like #80? Think I'll order 80, 83 and all the pads- cut, polish, and finish just to make sure I have all the angles covered, heh. I already have #7 and #9 and they're about as worthless as ScratchX on my swirls, lol.

Your not alone man. Heres mine a few months back after a coat of NXT and #26. It's dark, so the reflectiveness is toned down but... You wanna reach into the back quarter panel of my truck and get me some of my cleaning supplies? haha.

my trucks got 60,000 miles on it and i keep those swirls hidden!
