Wouldn't washing it with dawn just take off polishes and waxes again? What would be the problem with detailing it monthly if everything is taken off with dawn? Not saying I would do it but just wondering.

He won't be using Dawn again. Most likely just plain water or his normal car wash soap, with a mitt. Then he will dry it and apply the second coat of LG.Oh,and do the wheel wells, glass, and tires.

I doubt you need to wax once a month unless the wax he used is very poor wax. Even then, I can't see a need.

Just curious, why didn't you go with the Zaino?

Adding to what some of the others have posted. I have customers I deal with once a month or even more, but that is all maintainance work .. not waxing them every month ..

they would have to be going through some pretty drastic environmental issues to need a wax monthly.

LG has been around for awhile and I have seen other vehicles at car shows that use it exclusively, with great results! I'm not knocking Zaino but he gave me a choice;I chose LG! I guess i'm just old school;I even still use Turtle Wax wash even tho I have a 64 oz. bottle of Gold Class left from when I got it at Dollar General for $4.00 last year!

Some of ya'll might think I ask very trivial questions;why? You are the professionals here and I want to learn from you! Like I tell my fitters and welders at work;if you're not sure about something,ASK!

For one, it will diminish the shine and gloss on your truck. For two, it is not necessary, not one bit. So if he tries to sell you on the idea that it is necessary, then my feelings are, he is a hack and has no clue what he is doing. On the flip side of the coin, if the wax is wearing off within a month, even under the driving conditions you listed, then its junk wax, dont let him put it on again.

You can do what you want, im just trying to look out for a fellow member...I dont want to see anyone get the wool pulled over their eyes by a smooth talking wannabe detailer.

No,hes not like that.According to LG,the more you apply the better it is.I'm gonna have him apply one more coat this Friday then after that just wash it as normal.
Why do I read here about some of the members/pros always waxing or polishing there rides once a month,and/or even some weekly?

We don't ... My car is still on the original full detail that I did back in late November with no paint defects. I'll probably wait a few more months before doing a complete detail including clay, polish, wax, etc.

Now i'm really confused! I hear some saying it takes an act of congress and a grinder to remove LG and Zaino!
Well,ya'll know what I mean.I don't think LG would specify to add additional coats just so you will keep buying there product to help them make money! I'm sure they have done research on LG and just "recommend" to add extra coats to help protect the paint/clearcoat.
Oh well,let the grilling begin!
