Meguiars Detailing Class

Well gentlemen I am going to Meguiars tomorrow for their class. I have read good things about the training with regards to correct products, pressures and arm speeds, corrections etc...

I recently bought quite a bit of stuff at ADS including G 100 D/A, #9, #80, #83, Clay, Hyperdressing , 6 pads, MF bonnets etc... and am looking forward to some more info and practice on somebody elses car.

Anyone here been to the class?

I am fortunate to be less than an hour away from their corporate and the class is free. They have breakfast, lunch and a bag of full size goodies for participants.

Awesome....that should be a good class. I am a little jealous. Some of us had to learn the hard way.

I agree! Some hands on instruction would be great. Good thing we have some great members on this forum who can help spend our money on our OCD.

wow jealous! I so wish they'd take that thing on a big road tour. I'd drive a few hundred miles to go to one. Can't however drive all the way to Caleefornee.

Be sure to post any new tips and tricks they show you.

That's an awesome opportunity. I've seen the DVD for the G100 that Mike Phillips does. He really knows his stuff. He makes detailing look super-easy. It's almost not even fair.

Bring us back some tips.

I found a post from Boss_429 where he linked some vidoes.

Here is the text, I recomend them to anyone learning how to use a DA and for anyone looking to check out some techniques. It's not a full class but if you cannot get to a class these will help.

There are a lot of good mid-range polishes that will work well with at PC. The main thing is to focus on the process.

I looked all over and found a couple of good videos to review. While I don't agree with everything in the videos, they are pretty decent.

Anyhow, here's the link. Scroll all the way down to the three red ovals and click to start the videos. Try and ignore all the ads and product promos, as it's the process that's important.

I think I have seen these before, and you are right, they are really good videos for some basics on how to use a DA.

They are good to review from time to time as we often get in to our own worlds sometimes. I would rather go to a class.

Here in DFW, Tropi-Care offers classes, been wanting to check them out.

May also try to get my local Megs supply house to "encourage" megs to do a local DFW class.

The 1-day detailing class is a freebie... they've been doing these for several years now.

I was lucky enough to attend a 3-day advanced class several years ago in Irvine (via Kentucky) when I was moderating at Meguiar's Online...

I stayed with your instructor overnight and hung out with he and his wife (and kids) for the better portion of a day and a half. Be sure to tell Mike that Rockpick said 'hello'.

Here's a few snapshots from the 'old' Meguiar's Garage:

Working around the edges...

Looking in on Jamie (Jamie details airplanes for a living) See the wetsanding marks on the hood? We were using airtools with Mirka abrasives there (great stuff!!)

See the wetsanding marks now? Gotta love the #84/#80 kick!

Remember, I'm a mod... make fun of me and I'll ban you. LOL!
