What color is the leather? Grey or parchment?

There are tons of good leather products out there and since this is not a KR you got it made easy. Leather CPR would be a GREAT product to use on your leather. So would Poorboys Leather Stuff. Megs makes a 2 step product, blue for cleaning white for conditioning...its also VERY good.

That should get your started.

PS

Leather CPR does have a odd smell to it....Leather Stuff by Poorboys has a high leather smell and so does megs.

Got any photos of your leather?

I have beige leather and now and then it gets so dirty that I have to use Simple Green but for normal cleaning I use Turtle Wax Leather Cleaner & Conditioner in the spray bottle and for light stuff I use Amour All Leather wipes or sometimes just plain Amour All cleaning wipes and follow up with Turtle Wax Leather Cleaner.

If you keep the leather conditioned it will be much easier to keep clean since it will not absorb things as easy.

Simple Green on leather!! First time I have heard of that. I figured that would be way too agressive for cleaning leather.

I clean my leather by washing the seats with a washcloth in warm water, then followed by the Meguiars 2 Step Process. I use the Meguiars Gold Class wipes every once in awhile. Works for me.

Man I hate to bag on your posts 2 times in one night but I am not so sure that using SG is a good idea on Lariat Leather. It does have a "coating" on it and using a high PH'ed product could wear it out or remove it all together.

RockPick is really the man to ask about Leather, regardless of KingRanch or Lariat leather, I would be interested in hearing his thoughts?

Please visit the King Ranch section on the forum, there are MANY threads that will be more helpful. Costano leather requires special attention and care.

It's ok. We all eventually do what works. This is the second Lariat I have owned with the beige interrior and I put 80K on my 2001 and I have 90K+ miles on my 2004 seat time and both always look nearly new. I wear jeans all the time so I think I would see a problem from hard use and abuse if there was one. Over time a dirty coating was building up and simple green diluted a bit was the mildest thing that would work. I dont let it soak and I rinse repeatedly.

I have used Lexol and other expensive cleaners and they didnt do the job.
I have owned 15 vehicles and 4 motorcycles and I never had a problem with SG.

I've had great results with Meguiar's Gold Class Rick Leather Aloe Cleaner & the Conditioner. These are 2 different products, not an all-in-one type of deal. The cleaner did an excellent job of cleaning the tan leather in my sister's Mountaineer. She had stains, dirt, pen marks, something that looked like Sharpie Marker in a few spots. I was able to clean everything off except for one marker spot in the rear. Great stuff!

Leather CPR can be found at most Bed Bath and Beyond type stores or anywhere horse products or sold.

Poorboys can be found on their site or distributor's sites....and Megs 2 step can be found at most auto shops.

If you are talking about bluejean dye on your seats you are in for a tougher fight as oldDogg has referenced. Find a cure for that and you will make some friends.

i think you are going to like the way your seats feel after using Leather CPR but I don't think it cleans as good as the Megs 2 step stuff (Blue gel looking stuff)

Poorboys Leather Stuff smells incredible...best "leather" smell in a bottle if you ask me.

Also, Poorboys Natural Look dressing cleans pretty darn well too I might add.
