That's an odd looking intake for a 2005.... Anyone else's look like that?

i thought it looked funny too.

I thought it was the 4.6L at first but his profile says

2005 Ford F-150 XLT - 2WD 5.7L Triton V8 (should be 5.4L)

Sorry, it's an '04 5.4...I was thinking of the other truck we have (not a Ford)...typo.

Not sure on the intake, maybe it's different because of Canada emissions or something? That's getting ditched anyway.

Spray it down with simple green keeping away from the ecm and other computer crap and pressure wash off then spray down with tire foam and it will look good.

These are both my 1991 Mustang LX 5.0, and my 1991 F-150. I use Simple Green straight on a COLD ENGINE, then simply spray off with a garden hose. Afterward I blow everything off as good as I can with compressed air, then start the engine and allow it to warm up to operating temp. I then use Armor All, or a similar product and hit all plastic and rubber under the hood. If you do this twice a year it will keep it looking good all the time, and you don't get so filthy if you have to work on anything. Mel

Armor All is good if you like dust. Armor is great for a minute until the dust gets a hold of it.

Ok, I will post another clean engine.

APC+ with Hyperdressing (NO DUST)

As I posted in my other thread...the key is to NOT USE HIGH PRESSURE and agree with the poster above, Mel, on a COLD engine. Great tip above by using compressed air....

Dry it up, Hyperdress the sh__ out of it. Done deal. Have a beer or a coke and smile

Rollingrock,

Is this "Hyperdressing" you speak of what you used on the plastic in the photograph? If so, where is it avaliable? Thanks, Mel

Yes, that shot and look is done with Hyperdressing after using a APC type product.

Hyperdressing can be bought from ADS or if you have a local professional supply house you can get it there too. Its a Megs product.
