because it is a chemical does not mean it will harm your finish, it is designed just for that, to use on your finish without damage.

To the OP....use the least aggressive method first as described here....if that doesn't work, go more aggressive.
Clay, varying degrees, White, Blue, Pruple, Red
Chemical.
thats fine, least aggressive is fine, but why is goo gone or 3m aggressive???
pull the pinstripe tape off the car use...ummmm what??? not a clay bar. 3m or goo gone, it is paint safe....
or better yet, buy about $80 (white, gray, red, ect) worth of clay and see that it will not do the trick, then get the $4 can of 3m or goo gone and in less than 5 mins its gone.

But what do I know about paint transfer? Probably not much.....

I have no idea how to get paint off.
I spy something red and round.... On the rolling stool... Its the Red Cut pad!!! My favorite!
I also see those fun SSR's and those freaking sweet towels...
Its amazing what you can see if you look at paint...

i did too see the one about the thinner, i guess its safe for only you to use and suggest, someone else brings up an adhesive remover and it should be disreguarded, it is so aggresive it should be treated as battery acid, you said use clay and thats what should be used
so why invest in so much more clay when there is something that will get it done, faster, cheaper, and very easy to do.

3M stuff is more harsh than you think. There have been many topics here where it was discussed. It DOES have its place but from experince, I won't use it. I have seen what it can do to paint if used the wrong way. So can APC+, Lacquer Thinner, GooGone, Goofoff blah blah blah. Lacquer Thinner was a trick that my buddy showed me....he owns a body shop and uses it for paint correction just like the samples I provided. Can it do damage? You bet. Is it safe to use properly? You bet. Is 3M whatever safe? Sure....
Net is, using a very harsh chemicals can do really bad things to your paint, especially if used on trim pieces where the paint is so much thinner and easily damaged. If the OP wants to do it, great...if you want to do it great...
Beechkid is known to give incredibly bad advice....its a goal in this area to provide as much detail as possible to help those seeking it....When ever someone suggests going off the deep end, we try and walk them off the ledge from makeing big mistakes.
Think about it for a second. You have a new F150...you found this website. You posted a few times etc. You ran through some paint, yet you remember there was a Care and Detail section on the forum you just joined. You see someone say, use 3M or GooGone....you get your towel out and start scrubbing away...next thing you know, you see color on your rag. Now what?
Have a happy new year.
