I've seen people split 50/50 on that subject. Some say it gets dirty, other say it doesn't.

I've had the exhaust for over a week now and haven't noticed any sort of dust/buildup from the exhaust.

Hmmm... Maybe the olden days are gone... I have never personally had a vehicle that had exhaust like that, just had friends who claimed it was a PITA, but I cant remember if they had polished aluminum or chrome rims. Since yours are plastichromed, and cleared, they should repel most junk from the road and exhaust (I know my chrome rims dont pick up brake dust like aluminum rims do...)

Good luck! Hope you enjoy what you have done!

I do a little bit of a lazy mans wash and wax.

1.) Mr. Clean Auto Dry wash filled with Meguiars Gold Class Wash.
2.) 2 bucket method
3.) Dry with the filter on the Mr. Clean, then dab over spots with soft microfiber.
3.) NXT Wax (leave on for about 15 minutes, remove with diaper cloth)
4.) Mist the car with a spray bottle, then use Eagle One wax-as-you-dry (Adds a little bit more shine, and alot more protection against water marks from rain)

Always comes out first class.

I was wondering what combo you used... I knew it had a syn on there, but it didnt look quite like what I have seen before... Then I read your post... Interesting...

As for the lazy aspect, you are far less lazy than the other 80% of people who never wax their cars... And since you have even gone the extra mile to use the MrC, 2 bucket method, and 2 types of waxes, I am confident that your truck will look great for a VERY long time.

Good work. (Now get some dressed wheel well pics!!! )

I love my Mr. Clean auto dry and use it every Saturday on my truck.

Your system is pretty much like mine except I do a paint polish prior to my wax applications and I used my PC for the first time 2 weekends ago and will never do anything by hand ever again.

Yea I've been contemplating purchasing a PC, just want to make sure I read up on how to use it properly before I go screwing anything up.

Pretty soon I'm gonna be getting some rims. Was going to go with some 20'' Konig Costals, but found out they discontinued them

So I'm going with my next choice, 20'' Liquid Metal Magmas.

As soon as the detailing sticky is up, you will have all the info there. Also, when you get a PC, presumably from ADS, you might want to pick up the detailing vid they offer.

OR--

Find someone here that has a PC in your area, and ask them for help! they will more than likely be enthusiastic about helping you.

AND-- Ask us for any questions, do searches, etc. There is a PLETHORA of previously posted knowledge, and there is MUCH more in our minds-- pick them to your hearts desire.
