Alright thought I'd throw up some initial shots to show my progress on the hood so far. Wow this detaiing stuff takes awhile. Here was my process on the hood;

Wash
Clay
#80 x2 applications
#9
#21

I am very happy with the results.

Before washing

After wash & clay

After detail

Dang, I actually just got done washing them. They weren't too bad though, the #9 pad looked like I barely used it at all. I don't think the pictures show the real condition of the paint, but there were mainly only some waterspots and very little cob webbing. Overall my paint wasn't really in bad condition at all.

When the sun came out I switched and started doing the interior and got it done. I took a break for now and am waiting for the sun to go down. I'm going to hit the rest of the truck with #1 paint cleaner from Megs 3-step process and then #21. Tomorrow morning I'm going to get up and hit it with the #26 and then #34 and be done with it.

So I finished up for the night a couple of hours ago. I went out, taped up the rest of the truck and hit it with #80. Was starting to get pretty dark so I'll have to check it again to see if it needs another coat. I wasn't going to hit the body panels with the #80, but I got real close and looked and saw some slight cob webbing. So if it doesn't need another application of #80 I'll go over it all with the #21 and then probably do the #26 right afterwards in the morning.

I'll be sure to post up some of the finsihed pics once it's all done. For those that have done a full detail on their trucks what's the longest it's taken you to complete?

I spent the better part of three days on the first detail when I brought it home. did the out side over two days, then spent almost a day on the inside later that week.

Alright I am finally finished with my first detail job using the PC. First thing let me say that the PC saved alot of time and effort on my part. It also saved my shoulders from totally aching at this point. I will never do a hand detail again.

Here's a couple shots of the tailgate first.

BEFORE WASH

AFTER WASH & CLAY

AFTER DETAIL

Now for the shots of the finished truck.

And finally for all those wheel well *****

I think it turned out great and I am very pleased with the job. The hood is 100 times better now then when I started yesterday. I would say that 99.9% of all the waterspots and cob webbing that was present before starting are now gone.

Thanks for the compliments, it was truly alot of work spread out over 2 days, but now that it's done it was well worth it. Of course wouldn't you know about 30 mintes after I was finished we had a brief 10 min rainshower. I went out immediately after the rain stopped though and wiped it all down.
