Find a local detail shop that has an ozone machine. This will snub the odor. Be certain to explain your issue so that they are better able to treat your issue.

My Dad hit a skunk with his Windstar a few months ago... damn did it stink. What did he do? He got a bug sprayer (the kind you buy from a hardware store or even walmart, that you add the solution, and then pump it up to presurize it), and filled it with lemon juice, baking soda, and water, and he sprayed the whole corner of the car... making sure he sprayed a lot into the vent cowl. He then let it sit for about 15 minutes, and then he washed the van.

Did it work? Yes. It got rid of it, and that was a freshly killed skunk too.

(Hint: If you really want to tick off a tailgater, straddle a skunk so the tailgater runs it over. It's funny when you see them going crazy because of the nasty smell.)
