Question 2007 F150 wash/wax q?s

I'm about to get a brand new 2007 dark blue F150.When can it be washed and waxed? Is there a waiting period because it is new paint? I will stick with Turtle Wax soap, but might want to use a new wax/polish besides Meguiars;any suggestions?

There is no wait time. The dealer should wash and wax it for you the day you buy it. Then if your like me the next day you are washing and waxing it yourself.

By the time it's gotten from the factory to the dealer the pain has had plenty of time to 'cure.' You might also want to consider claying it as soon as you get it to get the rail dust off and out of the paint. Won't show as much as on a white truck where it appears as 'rust' spots in the paint but it's still good to take care of it as soon as possible.

As soon as I pulled mine into the driveway I washed, clayed, washed, cleaned, polished, and wax x2. I prefer to use Meguiars but, I agree with a saying from the Admin at meguiars online.

"Find something you like and use it often."

Don't let them do it .. no need to let the dealer install swirls for you ..

take it home .. wash it, clay it if you can, then give it a couple good coats of your favorite wax.

no need to wait .. you can wash and wax it the day you get it home ..

Unlike the paint of yesteryear... today's modern catalyzed finishes can be waxed/sealed nearly the same day that they leave the factory.

Body shop work may be a different story as they typically don't 'bake' the paint in order to flash off any carriers/VOCs.
