use a product called Forever Black this product is the only product with black dye in it. I used it and although they dont look new they are much improved. I was also told to use the same stuff you use to polish your shoes made by kiwi. Back to black is terrible do not use this stuff.

It was mentioned earlier in the thread that if you had a spray in bed liner that they could coat the rails as well. I called my Line-x dealer that did my bed on my 05 and he stated that he could not spray the plastic rails. Has anyone had this done?

I use the 303 and like it... I had to get my local RV shop to order it for me.

303, without a doubt. If there is something better I'd like to now what it is. It even has an SPF rating of 40.

Regular use gives 100% Prevention of UV caused slow-fade with regular use. No other "protectant" beautifies as intensely, protects as powerfully or lasts as long.

Stoner's "Trim Shine"....it will work like a charm.

I use to use it on the black plastic pieces on my Wrangler and it made them look like new and would last a while.

I bought some 303 today from a boat place. It was more than a dollar an ounce, so it had better work...Preliminary results says it was bad to apply in direct sunlight, and wipe off only seconds after applying. A couple hours later it was very splotchy, but I did it just before work, so I had to hurry. My cowl has been looking kind of grey lately, so I felt it was urgent.

That 303 is good stuff.

Other than that, I think that even once you apply it, it will wear back off and fade again quickly. I used to be big into Jeeps and the flares on those would fade all the time. I know a few people that would get special plastic paint (it's more flexible than regular paint) and scuff and paint them up a flat black. Worked very well from what I've seen. If you use regular paint and you paint the plastic, when the plastic flexes, the paint may crack.

That's really weird that all of yours are fading. Mine are seven years old and still look fine.

But I'm painting them anyway... I think they would look better in arizona beige, along with the bumper tops, to match the lower panel accent color.

Sand, spray with Plastic Adhesion Promotor, spray with paint. That's what the guy at discount auto said....

I heard that peanut oil works really well when trying to get wax off of black plastic parts, so I tried it and it works really well and also restores the color to my partially faded pieces. Just used an applicator to apply it and then wiped it off with a rag.

do a search for Restore Black. Made by Bondo. Great stuff. Easy to use, too.
