Drying with a microfiber cloth?
Drying with a microfiber cloth?
First post great site. Is it safe to use a microfiber cloth to dry a white f150 or could leave any swirl marks? They are a orange color microfiber from Wally World.
Thanks

p.s. I washed the truck once already using microfiber to dry the truck.
Also I noticed as i left work that there are now black spots all over the sides of the truck. They come off easily rubbing with my finger but it does seem to streak like tar but come off much easier. Any thought as to what those black spots may be?
Thanks

Microfiber towels are fine to use. I have some large ones and use them when I dry my truck as well. Or you can use a Meguiar's Water Magnet, some guys really like them around here, suppose to be better than the microfiver towels too.
You can use some Meguiar's Speed Detailer also at Wally world, this can remove them also.

As far the black spots go, I think we all get them, I know I do, you may want to use a clay bar to get them off perhaps. Clay Magic is suppose to be really good stuff to use. I ordered some online and should have it Monday.
Good luck with your truck and welcome to the family.

Thanks for the quick reply. I think the black spots are from Armour All Extreme Wet Tire Shine, I really liked this product the 1st time I used it but today i applied the tire shine let it sit for about 10 hrs I figured it would be dry guess not. It does give your wheels a awsome shine but might not be worth it. I just took a dry microfiber towel and wiped them off now I am wondering if I should have wet the towel (new truck worries). Anyways thanks again for the reply.

it is best to use a quick detailing spray in conjuction with a good microfiber towel when cleaing up small issues like that. I carry some in my truck at all times, for the occasional bird droppings, etc.
There are several detailing sprays available that will do the job. Some people like to use one from the same product line as their last step product, like NXT Spray detailer if you are uisng nxt, or Zaino with Zaino, etc.
Meguiars makes several that are good choices, Quik Detailer, NXT Spray Detailer, and #34. Poor Boys also makes one that a lot of people like.
as for drying, the Meg's water magnets work very well .. I use hem, along with Pakshak waffle weave towels ..
The main thing with drying is that you want something that can be used without applying any pressure, and something that has a good nap, like a microfiber or waffleweave towel.
you can try this to your microfiber towel for drying.
Pat it to dry or just lay the towel to the wet area then put a light preasure, dont pull or rub the towel. Sometimes there's dirt left over on the paint that might cause swirls or even scratches.
