RockPick quick ? for ya..

I have a relative that got some scratches on her car. The date on the inside driver door jam says 3/06. Is it ok to compound and wax a car 3 months after build date?

Generally speaking... yes (pending it's factory paint and it wasn't 'touched up' by a dealership with something other than catylized paint).... BUT, why go straight to a compound?

Depending on the severity, you may be able to utilize something less abrasive and achieve better results.

Yeah as far as we know its factory paint. I work for a car wash/detail shop and i always thought it was at least 3 months. Just wanted to double check. I might be able to get it out with just wax and no compound. They are very light.

I'd go with a cleaner wax or very light swirl remover/filler type of product if they're very light.

No need to compound unless you're really going after some 'tough' stuff...
